Obituary for Perry Dallas Dye

Mr. Perry Dallas Dye, age 74, of the Strouth Creek section of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (April 27, 2021) at his home. Born February 10, 1947 in Tazewell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late James Patton and Dora Bell Hess Dye. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Freewill Baptist faith. A disabled coal miner, he had formerly been employed by Pittston Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Dye, five sisters, Marie Batton, Vide Harris, Beulah Hubbard, Geneva Hess, and Louise Dye, and five brothers, Kenneth Dye, Burt Dye, Ruel Dye, Bill Dye, and James Ray Dye.
Survivors include his wife, Annis Arbutus Dye; two children, Annis Marcella Hubbard and husband, Wayne, and Dallas Wayne Dye and wife, Regina; three grandchildren, Nicole Dye, Tivanna Ball and husband, Bradley, and Matthew Simerly and wife, Paige; great-grandson, Lanten Wakefield; sister, Ebbie Dye; brother, Frank Dye; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Tommy Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Patton Dye Cemetery in Swords Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Cecil Dye, Danny Hess, Jeffrey Dye, Randy Dye, Terry Dye, Ivan Harris, Danny Hubbard, Lee Dye, and Cecil Dye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rafty Dye, Roger Hubbard, Harley Dye, Lowell Batton, Ellis Whited, and Fairley Spencer.
Due to COVID restrictions mandated by the governor, a mask is required. For those unable or uncomfortable attending, the funeral service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Saturday from 11-12.
