Heaven gained one of the most wonderful, most strongest men I've ever known, my precious Grandfather, Donald Harris. This man has provided me with so much over the years... The true unconditional love for all of his family, the way to live a good Christian life, knowledge about the bible that will forever be invested in me. I thank my Grandpa and my Grandma both for my being able to quote or to refer back to bible verses still that were bestowed in me as a young child. The way popaw and momaw taught me at a very young age the power of prayer and what it would be like to have a wonderful, Christian based marriage. The way my popaw showed me how a man should treat a woman. His strength would amaze anyone, he never complained no matter how bad he felt or how tired he was. He was also one of the most hardworking people I have ever met. I honestly don't know how he pushed himself like he did. Popaw LOVED being outdoors and doing things to provide for the family and to help momaw. I can remember a little while back even though he was weak he still wanted to get outside and help mow the grass. He was so excited to tell me that he got to mow and help momaw some because he hadn't been able to in so long. I will always admire the strength, willpower and determination he always had. My precious popaw fought battles all of his life to be able to get his angel wings to and be in Heaven with the good Lord and to be reunited with his loved ones who had gone on before him. As much as popaw was praising the Lord and singing in his hospital bed at home, I would have given anything to have heard him singing "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace" as he walked through those pearly gates. This man truely deserves one of the best written tributes ever written and I'm sure anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him would agree. I wish I could find the words to express just how much this man means to me and to list everything wonderful he ever did for me but I could take the rest of my life and still not be able to list all of his wonderful qualities popaw had and list all of the ways he has impacted my life. He wasn't just my grandpa, he was one of my best friends and my heart is shattered. I don't know how we will ever make it without him. I pray one day I'll see him again. Please keep my family in your prayers, it's comforting knowing beyond the shadow of a doubt where he is n that he will suffer never more but our hearts are still broken.
