Mr. Ricky Dale Hale, age 60, of Council, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (December 25, 2019) in a Pikeville, Kentucky hospital. Born March 12, 1959 in Grundy, Virginia, he was a son of the late Herbert and Irene Lockhart Hale. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1977 graduate of Council High School and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He had formerly been employed as a welder with Epling Manufacturing. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Nascar and football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Vicky Gail Collins, and brother-in-law, Joe Hyatt.
Survivors include two sisters, Rita Darlene Thompson and husband, Steve of Boynton Beach, Florida and Diane Hyatt of Gainesville, Virginia; one nephew, Mike Hyatt; special friends, Frank Cook, Tracy Street, Bobby Elswick, Nick and Deb Compton, and Patty Street.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia with Rev. Edward Tiller officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at funeral home by 12:30 PM to go in procession.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
