Obituary for Rita Gay Reynolds (Richardson)
Mrs. Rita Gay Reynolds, age 59, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (December 7, 2022) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born April 12, 1963 in Tazewell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Sarah Richardson. A lifelong resident of the area, she enjoyed watching birds, squirrels, and deer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Richardson and Randy Richardson. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, Ira Eddie Reynolds of the home; son, Joey Wayne Reynolds of the home; daughter, Angela Ellen Morrison and husband, Rodney of Swords Creek; two grandchildren, Matthew William Morrison and Sheri Samantha Morrison; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Tommy Dye and Rev. Rondo Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Ira Reynolds Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Shane Casey, Tim Casey, Jim Richardson, Robby Reynolds, Adam Reynolds, and Rodney Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Reynolds, Gearld Reynolds, and Dennis Richardson.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home, Honaker, Virginia, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Richardson and Rev. Earl Reynolds officiating.
