Obituary for Ruth Gerelene Pruitt
Ruth Gerelene Reynolds Pruett, age 67, of Lebanon, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Friday (April 8, 2022) at her home. Born May 6, 1954 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Myrtle Eva Peck Reynolds. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1974 graduate of Honaker High School. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Hubbard’s Chapel. She and her husband, Jerry, along with some friends and family members formed the Harmony Quartet. They travelled many miles singing and sharing the message of the gospel through song. She had formerly been employed as a cook and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Jerry Kenneth Pruett on October 10, 2021; three infant children and one brother, Billy Reynolds.
Survivors include her children, Heather Gilbert and husband, Travis of Cleveland, Virginia, Jason Pruett and fiancée, Tina Holmes of Lebanon, Virginia and Faith Bailey and husband, Hyder of Bristol, Tennessee; granddaughters, Alanas Gilbert, Santanna Gilbert and Bellany Gilbert; one sister, Helen Casey of Clark’s Valley, Virginia; four brothers, Roy Reynolds and wife, Barbara of Bull Run, Virginia, Cloie Reynolds and wife, Shelby and Eddie Reynolds and wife, Rita of Clark’s Valley, Virginia and Mark Reynolds and wife, Rebecca of Coxtown, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and her special fur babies, Snowball, Bitty, Midnight, Bubbles, Cole, Nila, Suicide, Smokey and Cooper also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lenora Vanover officiating. Interment will follow in the Ira Reynolds Cemetery in Clark’s Valley.
Pallbearers will be Delmer Spencer, Richard Hess, Andrew Bogle, Adam Reynolds, Robbie Reynolds, Gerald Reynolds, Edward Whitt, Timothy Casey and Shane Casey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Coy Vanover, Corbin Lester, Tamian Lester, Lewis Stump, Daniel Reynolds and Kevin Dickerson.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rondo Reynolds officiating.
