Obituary for Samuel Waylin Rose

Mr. Samuel Waylin Rose, age 24, of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (November 13, 2020). Born August 8, 1996 in Abingdon, Virginia, he was the son of Anthony Waylin and Tammy Lynn Harris Rose of Council. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 2014 graduate of Abeka Academy. He was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church and was currently employed by AT & T.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Rev. Claude H. Rose.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Josie Lynn Rose; one son, Bentley Waylin Rose; grandparents, Barbara “Mamaw Goose” Rose, and Andrew “Poppy” and Rachel “Puddintain” Harris; aunts and uncles, whom were like second parents, Jeff and Debbie Rasnake, David and Becky Harris, and Karen Rose; his first cousin, Dwayne and Tina Harris, and Jase Harris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kirby and Freda Yates; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jacob and Christy Yates; sister-in-law, Carly Yates and boyfriend, Cody Stinson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Wayne Harrison, Rev. Eric Harrison, and Rev. James Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Claude Rose Family Cemetery at Council.
Due to COVID restrictions mandated by the governor, a mask is required. For those unable or uncomfortable attending, the service will be livestreamed on our Facebook page as well as our webpage.
Pallbearers will be David Harris, Jeff Rasnake, Wayne Harrison, Eric Harrison, Ken Ball, and Dwayne Harris.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday.
