Shelby Jean White McGlothlin, age 85, of the Coxtown section of Honaker, Virginia passed away Friday (August 26, 2022) at Abingdon Health and Rehab. Born September 17, 1936 in Honaker, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charles Kevin and Mable Stamper White. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Honaker High School. She married the love of her life, Jimmy McGlothlin, on June 11, 1954 and they had four children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted homemaker and she enjoyed gardening while her health permitted.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Albert; three brothers, Wilburn, Wondel and Joe White and one sister, Erylene Hite.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, Jimmy McGlothlin of the home; three children, Keith McGlothlin and wife, Linda, Jane McGlothlin and Kevin McGlothlin and wife, Silvia all of Honaker, Virginia; two brothers, Elmer White and Lynn White; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday at the McGlothlin Cemetery in Honaker, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at Honaker Funeral Home by 10:30 AM to travel in the funeral procession.
Pallbearers will be Keith McGlothlin, Kevin McGlothlin, Brian McGlothlin, Morgan McGlothlin, Tony Lambert, Neal Owens, Bradley Davidson and Levi McGlothlin.
The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home from 6 PM until 9 PM Monday.
