Obituary for Sherry Lynn Price (Cox)
Sherry Lynn Price, age 61, of the Lynn Springs section of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away at her home on Monday (April 3, 2023). Born January 20, 1962 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John R. Cox, Sr. and Anna Lou Dye Cox Young. She was a 1980 graduate of Honaker High School and a member of Swords Creek Block Church. She worked hard all of her life and was a loving caregiver at Heritage Hall in Tazewell and Tazewell Community Hospital. She had also been employed at Walmart, Lebanon Apparel, and Honaker Apparel. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Stanley and Margie Dye; paternal grandmother, Dulcie Cox Stump; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oliver and Sadie Price; brother-in-law, Rinnie Ratliff; and nephew, James D. Hess.
Survivors include her loving husband of twenty-nine years, Adam W. Price; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony W. and Whitney N. Price of Swords Creek; sisters, Bonita Ratliff of Horry, South Carolina, Silverlee Wallace and fiancé, Phil of Margate, Florida, Sheila Girten and husband, Mike of Bristol, Tennessee, and Kimberly Bentley of Richlands, Virginia; brother, John Cox and fiancée, Brina of Bristol, Tennessee; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nedia and Bryan Hess of Swords Creek, Virginia, Irene Harris of Honaker, Virginia, Carter Harris of Belfast, Virginia, Daniel Harris and wife, Kennedy of Doran, Virginia, Matthew Harris of Raven, Virginia, and Craig Harris of Honaker, Virginia; several beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family that have been there for her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenford’s Mountain Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Price, Colton Shortridge, Daniel Harris, John Metcalf, Jonathan Girten, Dustin Whited, Chris Whited, and Michael Meadows.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Hess, Barry Honaker, Matthew Harris, Craig Harris, Charlie Price, Mike Girten, and Jerry Monk.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Thursday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
