Shirley Faye Ferguson Honaker, age, 75, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Saturday (May 22, 2021) at her home following a battle with leukemia. Born September 23, 1945 in Welch, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James and Stella Honaker Ferguson. She attended Bible Way Church on Big A Mountain and enjoyed doing arts and crafts and fishing in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Bob, Tom, Ed, and Jimmy and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Honaker, Jr. and wife, Gwen of Wythe County, Virginia and Chris Allen Honaker and wife, Sheila of North Carolina; sisters, Marie McNeely of Hampton, Virginia, Elva Gay Hubbard and husband, Kenneth, Wanda Sue Yates and husband, Chester all of Honaker, Virginia and Betty Jean Hall of Abingdon, Virginia; two brothers, Glen Suits and wife, Fern and Darrell Ferguson and wife, Genevieve of Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Roy Stevens and Rev. Darrell Milgrim officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be David Yates, Kirby Yates, Cody Yates, Joey Musick, Cody Stinson, Bobby Hubbard, Isaac Hampton and Teddy Leake.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Wednesday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.

Aunt Shirley, you’re missed beyond words and beyond all the tears that are shed… I loved you so much when you were with us here on earth and I still love you while you’re up there in Heaven. I always looked at you as someone who would always be around, who nothing could ever touch…to me you were indestructible…I have learned that even the indestructible can fall…you were an absolute blessing and I will always hold our memories dear to my heart and no one can ever take those away from me…I hope you will come visit me one day, if only for a brief moment. I love you aunt Shirley…go rest and relax up in Heaven ❤️
