Mr. Steve Morrell, age 72, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (November 17, 2020) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born May 29, 1948 in Bristol, Tennessee, he had spent most of his life in the Bristol area, prior to moving to Honaker in 2002. He was a veteran of the United States Army and had formerly been employed by Bristol Compressors. He enjoyed watching Nascar races and football, but most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Hunigan Morrell, and two brothers, Ingal and Danny Morrell.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Linda McGlothlin Morrell of the home; two sons, Wesley Woodard and wife, Karen, and Christopher Woodard and wife, Wendy all of Honaker; his father, Jessie Morrell and wife, Debbie of Bristol; four grandchildren, Cody Woodard, Connor Woodard, Kourtney Woodard, and Collin Woodard; one great-grandson, Christopher Clayton Woodard; two sisters, Brenda Stidham and Diane Harr; special friend, Dallas Thomas.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9864 of Lebanon, Virginia.
