Obituary for Stuart Edward Addair

Mr. Stuart Edward Addair, age 71, of Rosedale, Virginia, passed away Monday (October 19, 2020) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born March 4, 1949 in Grundy, Virginia, he was a son of the late William Van and Nellie Shortridge Addair. A lifelong resident of southwest Virginia, he was a 1967 graduate of Grundy Senior High School and was a member of Freedom Ministries in Claypool Hill, Virginia. He was a retired coal miner, having been employed by Jewell Smokeless for over twenty years. He was a master wood craftsmen, and enjoyed football, fishing, playing with his dog, Maizie, but most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Kathy Addair of the home; two children, Kristen Cox and husband, Steven of Christiansburg, and Jonathan Edward Addair and wife, Jennifer of Denver, Colorado; two grandsons, William Edward Cox and Alexander Cox; sisters-at-heart, Carolyn McClanahan and husband, Les and Margaret Compton and husband, Michael; special friend, Earl Dye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at Freedom Ministries, 227 Wellness Drive, Cedar Bluff, Virginia, with Pastor Mickey Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Earl Dye, Allen Honaker, David Keen, Robbie Bishop, Terry Stanford, Gerald Stevens, Ken Strunk, Danny Nuckles, and Greg Conley.
The family will receive friends at Freedom Ministries after 6:00 PM Friday, where a Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
