Mrs. Sylvia Juanita Dye, age 86, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Thursday (April 6, 2023) at her home. Born August 19, 1936 in Jewell Ridge, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Oakla Lear Hess Compton. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a Christian and attended several area churches. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and going to auctions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Cecil Dye and Donald Tucker; one sister, Joan Dye; four brothers, Linkous, Donald, Eldon, and Junebug Compton; and daughter-in-law, Greta Dye.
Survivors include four children, Linda DeBord and husband, Charles of Lebanon, Chester Dye of Honaker, Carolyn Whited and husband, Tommy of Honaker, and Melissa Dye and husband, Curtis of Drill; six grandchildren, Jamie Meadows and Lori, Joshua Crabtree and Cindy, Santana Prescott and Joey, Justin Crabtree and Amber, Dakota Welch and Dillon, and William Hess and Kristin; four siblings, Joyce Smith and Jay, Randy Compton and Tonya, David Compton, and Geraldine Novean and Bob; sister-in-law and best friend, Myrtle Stiltner; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Charles and Linda DeBord officiating. Interment will follow in the Dye Cemetery on Miller Creek Road, Rowe, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Joey Prescott, William Hess, Jamie Meadows, Josh Crabtree, Justin Crabtree, and Dillon Welch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Dean Thomas, A.J. Whited, Troy “Peanut” Street, and Tyler Melton.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 -2 PM.
