Obituary for Wanda Lou Fletcher (Stinson)

Mrs. Wanda Edwards Fletcher, age 85, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Saturday (September 10, 2022) at her home. Born December 30, 1936 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Eula Honaker Stinson. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1955 graduate of Honaker High School. She had formerly been employed by Russell Manufacturing, Honaker Mills, and as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of Blackford Community Church. She enjoyed working word puzzles and reading her Bible, but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gonion Edwards, her daughter, Robin Edwards, three sisters, Sue Stinson, Claudia Stinson, and Imogene Thompson, three brothers, Wayne Stinson, Harry Stinson, and Garnett Stinson, and one step-daughter, Teresa Edson.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Fletcher of the home; one sister, Sylvia Vandyke of Honaker; three step-granddaughters, Natalie Ailer, Veronica Perkins, and NaTosha Sutherland; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Guy Harris and Rev. Larry Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lockhart Chapel Cemetery on Campbell Hollow Road, Honaker, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Kevin McGlothlin, Rodney Howard, William Counts, Trevor Counts, Larry Stinson, Jeremy Perkins, and Benny Sutherland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim McGlothlin, Ben Miller, Gary Stinson, Chuck Price, Ben Price, and the men of Blackford Community Church.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, 2022 after 6:00 PM, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
