Wesley Keith “Gord” Stevens, age 53, of Council, Virginia, passed away Thursday (February 20, 2020) in Cleveland, Ohio. Born February 2, 1967 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of Frances Clara Stevens and the late Carl Stevens. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1985 graduate of Council High School. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Boyd-Ratliff Chapel. He was employed as a roofer at Eddie Stevens Roofing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Big A Mountain Bass Masters.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Rachel Johnson Stevens; maternal grandparents, Tivis Berkley and Opal Victoria Bowen Stevens; and father-in-law, Ira Calvin Ball.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife of twenty-nine years, Melanie Dawn Stevens of the home; two children, Haley Morgan Osborne and husband, Dylan of Roanoke, Virginia and Hunter Blake Stevens of the home; grandson, Colton Keith Osborne; two brothers, Eddie Wayne Stevens and wife, Tiny of Rosedale, Virginia and Timothy Brian Stevens and wife, Vickie of Pounding Mill, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Cleveland Clinic for the wonderful care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Milgrim officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hess, Rick Miller, Chad Stevens, Ryan Rasnake, Josh Stevens and Chris Hampton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leemore Stevens, Ezra Harris, William P. Harris, James Ashby, Dannie Bostic, Mack Ray and Chris Stevens.
The family will receive friends after 5 PM Saturday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM.
