Obituary for William Roy Osborne

William Roy Osborne, age 79, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (June 4, 2021) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born November 16, 1941 in Drill, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elbert Paul and Dora Mae Adkins Osborne. A lifelong resident of the area, he was disabled coal miner and enjoyed being outdoors, especially spending time in the woods hunting for ginseng and going fishing, He was a Christian and was of the Freewill Baptist faith and enjoyed attending several churches in the area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle; one daughter, Mary Jane Osborne; infant son, Roy Lee Osborne; four brothers, Howard Osborne, Malcolm Osborne, Ralph Osborne and Paul Osborne; and a very special brother-in-law, Jr. Fuller.
Survivors include one daughter, Katherine Louise Wiggins of Orlando, Florida; two granddaughters, Evonna Jane Dotson of Honaker, Virginia and Jessica Renee Keen of Clinton, Tennessee; special sister, Eva Fuller, that loved and cared for him like a mother for thirty-five years; special Niece, Doris Fuller; special friends, Doug Shepard, Harold Dean Thomas, Rodney Lester; a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Denver Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.
The funeral service will be live streamed on our Facebook page as well as our website.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tuesday at Honaker Funeral Home, where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM with Rev. Tommy Dye officiating.
